Incredible Japanese Cookbook!

 

A chef I met in Japan gave me the Traditional Japanese Recipe Book with English Translation. It's one of the best basic Japanese cookbooks I've ever come across, with a ton of recipes, plus a bunch of techniques in the back, from broth ratios to cuts of meat to knife skills, and more. What a book! The English is a little wonky, but well-worth purchasing. I'm not sure how you'd get it outside Japan, perhaps through Kinokuniya Books. Worth a try.
