Here's an out-of-print gem you need to find and add to your Japanese cookbook collection: The Poetical Pursuit Of Food. The editor of the terrific LA Times food section and one of my favorite writers about food, ever, Russ Parsons, mentioned it in a blog post I came across. I thought, if Russ likes it, it's gotta rock. And it does. Get your hands it.
